With soul-stirring preaching, edifying Bible teaching, thought-provoking archaeological and science programs, captivating Christian drama, exciting broadcasts for children, and up-to-the-minute news, the Lighthouse offers something special for everyone, every day!
Our broadcasters have been carefully selected for their adherence to the fundamentals of the Christian faith and their testimony of faithfulness to God. All must be in agreement with the Doctrinal Statement of Baptist International Missions, Inc. “For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?” (I Corinthians 14:8)
Beautiful, uplifting music also has an important part in our schedule. Radio Lighthouse has not followed the modern trends in Gospel music, which bring the sound of the world to Christian programs. Only music honoring the Lord Jesus Christ finds a place in our music library.
OUTREACH
In an ever-changing electronic world, radio is still one of the most effective ways to reach large numbers of people in a short time with the unchanging Word of God. This is especially true in the islands of the Eastern Caribbean. Radio Lighthouse has the opportunity to reach over two million people on more than twenty islands, many of whom rely on radio for their information. Many live in small villages. At home, on the street, on the job, wherever people go, their radios or phones are with them.
Since some of the islands have closed their doors to missionary endeavors, the Lord has given the Lighthouse a unique opportunity to reach these areas and change lives in places where Bible-believing churches are few and far between. For many homes the radio may be their only opportunity to hear the Gospel message. Radio Lighthouse reaches islands no other station reaches with the fundamental truths of God’s Word.
The Lighthouse has broadcast Bible-centered programming in English since 1975 on AM and on FM since 2001.
RESPONSE TO AUDIENCE NEEDS
The Lighthouse listening audience is composed of people with varying spiritual needs. We seek to meet these needs through balanced Biblical programming and individual follow-up. Our goal is to present God’s plan of salvation to non-Christians, and to instruct and encourage Christians in the principles and doctrines of the Word of God. Programs are designed for every member of the family. Health and public service programs are tailored for the special needs of our Caribbean audience. Radio Lighthouse does not seek to take the place of the local church, but rather to complement the ministry of Bible-believing pastors in the Islands. Over the years God has greatly used the Lighthouse to make a difference in the lives and homes of our listeners.
We also began streaming our English broadcast online to reach the computer and smart-phone generation. We’re pleased with the response!
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
The ministry of Radio Lighthouse is not funded by Baptist International Missions, but is supported by faithful churches and individuals who have a concern for the spiritual needs of our listeners. Many of our broadcasters also support their own programs. The Lighthouse does not sell commercial advertisements. We are held accountable with our finances through reports sent to BIMI, which are also available to anyone upon request. We believe that good stewardship and financial accountability are essential in a spiritual ministry. Although we have always been able to meet our obligations, we are often frustrated with our inability to take advantage of ministry opportunities due to a limited budget.
